Right call on wrong data is still the wrong call

Most bad decisions aren't made by bad judgement. They're made on numbers that were late, partial or wrong, and nobody in the room could tell.

Picture the meeting. A budget gets moved, a product gets reordered, a campaign gets cut. The people in the room know their business and their judgement is sound. The numbers on the screen are from last week, exported from three systems that don't agree with each other.

The decision can be exactly right for those numbers and still be wrong.

Where it goes wrong

It is rarely one big error. It is the CRM export from March that nobody refreshed. The finance system that closes on the 10th, so the first ten days of every month are guesswork. The spreadsheet called v7_final that someone fixed by hand. The prices on a retailer's site that someone checks when there is time.

Each gap is small. Together they mean the decision is made on a picture of the business that is days or weeks old, and nobody can see how old.

What we do about it

We don't tell anyone how to run their business. We dig out the data the decision needs, from three places:

  • your own systems, where the numbers already exist but can't be reached
  • the world outside, like shelves, prices and public sources, collected every day
  • the two joined, which is where the most useful answers usually are

Then we put it where the decision is made: the chat, the inbox or one simple view. Not another dashboard nobody opens.

Three rules we keep

Every number carries the date of its data, so you always know how old it is. Measured facts are shown as facts and estimates as ranges, never the other way round. And the conclusions stay yours: we show what the data says, you decide what it means.

A right decision made on wrong data is still a wrong decision.

Start with one decision

Pick one decision that keeps coming back. Ask what you did last time, which data was missing and what that cost. If the answer is worth something, that is where to start.

ReadWe're not experts. We're plumbers. You know your industry better than we ever will. What we know is how to get the data out, join it up and keep it honest.

You know your trade. We know the pipes.

Tell us which decision you're making without the right data

A few lines are enough: which decision, who makes it and what's missing. We reply within a couple of days.
